NSFA, Panacan, Davao City - The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP), General Romeo S. Brawner Jr., lauded the Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMinCom) for its swift humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) to the affected communities in Davao Region, effective campaign execution and for outstanding show of professionalism on his visit last February 3.
Gen Brawner was apprised on the 2023 operational accomplishments of EastMinCom and the 2024 peace, law enforcement, development and security plan highlighting their initial operational successes in the joint operational area for January 2024.
During the "Talk to Troops", Gen. Brawner expressed extreme appreciation and acknowledge the pivotal role of the Reservists which augmented the responding regular troops and the LGU response teams in confronting these unprecedented challenges.
"I would like to point out especially the role of our Reservist. Malaki ang role ng ating mga reservist kaya’t nagpapasalamat ako na tuwing may kalamidad, nandiyan ang ating mga Reservists. And of course, kayong lahat na nandito ay tumutulong din sa ating mga kababayan tuwing may mga kalamidad dito sa area natin", the CSAFP stated.
He further commended the collaborative efforts and achievements of EastMinCom under the leadership of LtGen. Greg T Almerol, who vowed to defeat this year the remaining Communist Terrorist Groups and particularly ensures to sustain peace and security in Eastern Mindanao.
"I am very happy to know that your implementation plan in Eastern Mindanao Command is fully aligned with my intent as the Chief of Staff and with the campaign approach. I am very proud of the accomplishments of Eastern Mindanao Command. So, doon sa kampanya natin, nagset tayo ng mga targets. Dapat matalo na natin sila ngayong taon na ito, finally because we have to shift entirely our focus to territorial defense," Gen. Brawner added.
Gen. Brawner reminded the troops to uphold professionalism, clarity of mission, and focus. He emphasized the importance of loving their service, striving to be the best soldiers, always following the Chain of Command, and remaining loyal to the Constitution and the duly constituted authorities.
"This generation of soldiers are very professional. So, let us remain focused on our jobs, and let's be clear in our mission. Dapat ay mahalin natin yung serbisyo natin, let us try to be the best soldiers that we can be and be professionals always. Dapat magkaisa tayo. Dapat malakas ang ating AFP because if we have a strong AFP, we will have a strong Philippines" he ended.#
