EastMinCom Statement on the Visit of Gen Romeo S Brawner Jr, AFP Chief of Staff

NSFA, Panacan, Davao City – The  Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines was directed by the Secretary of National Defense to check the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations conducted by the Eastern Mindanao Command.

The visit was also a fulfillment of his previous promise to visit the Unified Commands. He wanted to know if Eastmincom’s new campaign plan is aligned with that of the General Headquarters. He lauded EMC for exceptionally accomplishing the mandated tasks given in 2023 and at the beginning of 2024. The CSAFP was very grateful for the warm welcome of the officers and men of the EMC and for the showmanship of professionalism and resiliency in every way as we faced all the challenges of serving to protect the people and securing the state.

Task Force Davao serves as the main effort of Joint Task Force Haribon in counter-terrorism operations. It has been effective in denying activities of terrorist threat groups and significantly maintained the peace, security, and development in Davao City.

There are no instructions whatsoever coming from higher headquarters to remove Task Force Davao from its present mandate.

Eastern Mindanao Command under the leadership of its Commander, LTGEN Greg T Almerol will continue to do its mission of providing all means to secure the people in its Joint Operational Area. All the units under Eastmincom are vital to accomplishing the given tasks.#
